China Plates
Should we have paper plates or real porcelain?
My future FIL insists that real China to our wedding. He thinks that the paper or plastic is in poor taste. My parents think that the paper plates will be fine and are cheaper. Especially because most people do not remember what I ate. We had find our own caterer for the reception and most places of China and we pay out and rent. What have others done?
It depends. If you have an informal food such as barbecue or snacks or appetizers, then go for paper. If you are making a more formal meal, such as chicken breast mashed potatoes, etc, go to China. It may cost more, but your guests are likely to complain if they have to eat a nice meal for a cheap meal. In addition, be sure to get larger and quality paper plates, if that's the route I go.
