Collectible Useful

Catalog your collection of vinyl records with user-friendly software
We love our music. Some prefer the historical average audio vinyl records, some enjoy the digital music that surrounds us every day. No matter what medium you prefer, if you have a collection that is very important for the document. Not only for insurance purposes, but also to maintain an accurate record of what they have or are being sought.
There are many software applications available today that claim to be the best for cataloging and documentation of a collection of records, some can even use an Excel spreadsheet. However, I found the final application, which is very easy to use and achieves the difficult task of cataloging a collection of records.
I recently spoke with Matt Trush, http://analogapartment.com/ operating the website. Analog Apartment is a place for fans of the collection and experience their music on vinyl and is a site that is designed to help mange your record collection. Now you can keep track of what you have and what you want in a simple application, web, elegant.
We will learn more about the program and how it can help you:
What did you design the program, had tried others in the market?
I just I wanted something that was simpler, cleaner and more staff to keep a list in a spreadsheet. I have seen and tried many other programs, but most they seemed to have more features than I needed and more like a business application.
What kind of equipment do you fund?
My grandfather introduced me to computers and programming when I was 9 years old and have been addicted to construction products since then. When I went to college, Originally majored in computer science, but switched to the MIS / business after a night battle with the code. In general, I wanted designing products and experiences more than I wanted to code.
Ballai Tibi, a good friend of mine and the other half of Analog Flat, is the true genius behind the technology. I can design the front-end experience in Flex and makes it work.
I signed for the product and fell in love with her question minutes. I really do not see any direction – however, very well together, there's really no need, just click a few buttons and then you can see what you can do with it. Was this done on purpose, you can talk about the functions of design and ideas behind them?
That is the goal of any product design. Great products have a way of walking through the product and keep it as intuitive as possible. We wanted to keep things clean and simple – more like kiosk custom collection of a spreadsheet or database.
The classification system that was incorporated into the program, this is the standard gold mine? Do you have any plans to change that?
Is and yes, we plan to make the interface more flexible for different types of information people want to collect about their records. Some people want to follow the catalog numbers, genres, labels, sizes, condition and value, while others just want the basics.
The fields that we currently do not exist because they help to capture what is unique in its particular copy.
You have a column for 'buy in' and the date of purchase, why as a collector you think this is important?
For some it is important and others not. I used to be really good to remember where I got my records. As my collection grew, I wanted to track where and when I got my records to give me an idea of what my collection has evolved and helped me reach places.
It's so easy to navigate through the program buttons + And = signs, plans to add new buttons or functions?
Of course, but never want to add features for the simple fact that they have. Our goal is to improve the collective experience and do not weigh people down with a piece of outdated software.
We recently launched gift lists, see album art, and a filter so you can find records based on the information you entered. Then we will be looking for add features that allow you to share your collections and gift lists with others.
I love the notes section, we incorporate and cover art vinyl in the program? As for the notes, which can be used?
Personally, I use the notes section to track your favorite tracks the letter and the information about my experiences with the album and artist.
It is also ideal for capturing information about an album that has no field specific. With the new filter function, one can find records on the basis of everything that is written in the notes. It is very flexible.
With respect to art Cover, let's look to extend this functionality in the future. At this point, we just wanted to make it easier for people to add an image to associate with an album.
We have just launched some changes to our application for registration of the collection, my.analogapartment.com.
In this update, we focus on what is easy to keep track of records and you have the records you want. He even added a print function by hand so you can make to your wishlist you to local shops, record fairs, and garage / stoop sales.
Is there any way to make entering data and copy it to another program such as Excel or Word? (A function to copy and paste?)
At this point, we have a function to extract the data in Excel or Word, but I have received requests to do so. Probably will build on the program. If anyone wants an Excel or Word file with the information contained in it, you can shoot me an email and we'll be happy to export its data from the database.
On the other hand, we also want people to be able to load a list of albums on analog apartments. For people and keep track of your collection in Excel or another program, we do not want them having to enter each album separately. Like exports, we are happy to import a collection of a worksheet in My Analog Flat on your behalf.
At this time, the program is available as a free download. You will be surprised how easy it is to document and catalog record collection using this simple software. It was developed by record collectors for collectors of records and is the best available on the market today and I highly recommend a stop by and give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
