How do you remove the gold leaf to a sheet of glass?

I have two plates of dessert-K gold leaf borders 22. I want to trash dishes, but I wonder if I can extract the gold.

I that even with the price of gold is not worth it. The gold which the foliation is incredibly intestine. I've browsed, so I'm familiar with it. A package of 25 sheets of 3 3 / 8 "x 3 3 / 8" 22 carat gold leaf is about $ 40 I think, and amount we are talking about is less of a leaf. (See below, I only sought to confirm). The sheet is so thin, in fact, I've seen floating in the air (No, I'm not making this up!): D Why not just sell the dishes on Ebay? Many people want to replace plates and such. Would probably make much more money that way.
