Ancient China Guide
Bone China has a huge following, faithful. Is collected worldwide, by brand and model. It is difficult believe that the formula and process for this type of porcelain eluded the craftsmen of Europe for hundreds of years.
Spode
Although some pieces of porcelain Chinese were brought to Europe and in the 13 century, it was not until 1800 that English artisans finally cracked the code to start manufacturing the precious commodity. The first attempts resulted in a mild type of pottery.
One of the first companies to produce comparable porcelain by firing kaolin, feldspar and quartz together at high enough temperatures to melt and fuse it together, it was Chelsea, established around 1745. Ancient China produced by this company is appreciated, as it was sold in 1769. Other brand names of that time, Bow, Bristol, Worcester and Derby. Derby still manufactures fine porcelain. Ancient China such company is valuable.
Josiah Spode was the first to add bone ash to the mix while trying to find a less expensive way of making porcelain, and the result was Porcelain. Although less expensive and easier to do, it is preferred to porcelain because of its transparency, high whiteness and durability. It also has the right colors for sought to produce new and traditional patterns. Spode China is still manufactured and even modern pieces are very collectable.
Along with Spode, other manufacturers porcelain collection from this period are very Minton (now part of Royal Doulton), Davenport, Coalport (now part of Wedgewood), Worcester, adding that "Real" to its name in 1789.
Owning ancient China
Antique porcelain collection is a great way to acquire beautiful pieces that will increase in value. It is brittle, which adds to its value, but that fact should not stop you from using it. China, including ancient China, it can be shown, which is used for meals and admired safely. Do not use old China in the microwave or dishwasher. Wash with soap and water without abrasive soaps or cleaners. When storing, use a paper towel or a cushion between other pieces to avoid bites, scratches or last minute.
