How to clean an antique wooden dresser?
I recently moved to a house built in 1929, the owner had lived here 30 years and was a avid collector of period antiques. She left a great Dreser / Burea in the basement. Its dark wood, beautiful! We want to move up to the decoration, but its strong so you have to make sure that you thoroughly clean the basement (to make clean enough to be in the limelight). It has some scratches, needed to handle, and very very dusty. I know it's probably not worth anything, we just want to clean it and put it in our dining room. I do not know how to describe the markings on the front but its water brands, but are darker than the wood. I cleaned it with commitment and went, but was dry and back! What do you suggest to clean marks, if he could leave. What is a good way to lose a lot of dust? Promise I realize probably isn't a great idea …. We arent wishing spend much money, so the cheaper the better!
Formby has a cleaning kit timber. I have used, and has really worked well. You can get on The Home Depot or Lowe's. Scott's Liquid Gold furniture also cleans very well. After scratches and stuff, they have these pencils wood stain colors that are different colored woods and can be used to touch up the spots on the furniture. Good luck, hope this helps.
