Meissen Dresden

Dresden Porcelain
Porcelain in Dresden and Meissen porcelain is sometimes confused due to his early long and tangled history. From the early 1700, Johann Bottger, a talented inventor, held as a prisoner of Prince Augustus Albrechtsburg Castle in Meissen, a small village a few miles the road to much greater Dresden. Bottger was there that he discovered how to make porcelain as fine as it is imported from China and Japan.
Bottger was originally imprisoned by Prince Augustus believed that he could fashion Bottger gold from other materials. When Bottger once discovered how to make porcelain, Prince Augusto was satisfied. Because Prince August was a collector of porcelain in Japan and China, opened a porcelain factory in the castle with Albrechtsburg to keep the secret of the porcelain.
Dresden, Germany was a major center of artistic intellectual and cultural movement. Many decorators Porcelain and sculptors, philosophers, poets and painters, settled in Dresden. The Dresden china phrase actually denotes more of a movement that focused in the artistic interests rather than a specific company that produced the Dresden china.
Principles of Dresden porcelain were second (Or decline) of the Meissen factory. Porcelain painters are extending the coverage and the reputation of the Dresden porcelain worldwide. Factories in Dresden finally got the ability to fashion their own hard-paste porcelain from scratch.
Within a few years after the invention of porcelain, Bottger died. His apprentice, Johann Horoldt invented the real porcelain paintings. These paintings were made by mixing finely ground glass and metal ingredients, and then link with oil. It is used during the tempering process in third place, painting porcelain was fired in translucent enamel. Thus, the beautiful paintings, and other designs that are part of the charm of Dresden china, were born. Another invention Horoldt that was important in the development of Dresden china was the appearance of color, iridescent purple. This color was soon as a sign of an authentic piece of Dresden china.
Renaissance Rococo is a phrase used to describe the style of Dresden china. The widespread use of complicated and creative paintings with lots of shells, flowers, scrolls, fruit and foliage was first used by decorators Dresden porcelain. Collections of Dresden china, also enjoyed more success with this style of decoration. These designs were painted on white porcelain Meissen in the early years. This is probably a confusion between the porcelain Dresden and Meissen porcelain.
For nearly 200 years, area enjoyed immense success with Dresden china. That all ended on the night of February 13, 1945, when allied forces bombed Dresden. The city was almost completely destroyed. Almost everything in the Dresden porcelain factories were burned beyond recognition. This event effectively marked the end of manufacturing Dresden porcelain.
The exquisite designs, and elaborate paintings, made in many pieces of Dresden china lend themselves to the attraction of these collector's items. Moreover, the abrupt end of the manufacture of porcelain in Dresden, also adds to its appeal.
The mark of a true Dresden porcelain piece is a blue crown with the word Dresden under it. This should not be confused with the crossed swords mark found on Meissen porcelain.
