How practical is to build my house on top of a plateau in the desert?
I want to build a shack on top of a plateau in the middle of desert, miles away from any road, where you can wake up in the morning, Walke to the edge, spread my arms and watch as the sun, the great world, in all its beauty, get up, laying the golden fingers of light between, cactus and sagebrush hares, and then watch as she climbs into the sky, heating the dry air and water. What so practical is that?
You can do it, but it will be quite expensive unless you are willing to forego some of the comforts of modern life. first concern would be water, but is likely to have a well of a pair of tail. The next concern would be the electricity (lighting, air conditioning, refrigerator) to be a little more expensive. You can produce your own electricity, but these systems are expensive and you have to live relatively conservative (you can not adjust the thermostat to 68) The vision and experience would be incredible, but in answer to your question would be practical …. Far from it!
