Antique Nippon Porcelain, as China was called during the period from 1890 through early 1920 the country of origin and does not indicate that the products of a specific manufacturer. Nippon is the Japanese or Anglo-Saxon word for "land of the rising sun." Only in the decade of 1860, Japan opened trade with the West.
