Doing Business With Japan
There is a large market for British goods in Japan, in 2005 alone the UK exported eight million pounds of goods and services from Japan. The Japanese market is almost double the size of the UK market, with a GDP of about 4.3 trillion U.S. dollars against of the UK's $ 2.2 trillion in 2007. The average income of Japanese people is generally higher than British, so if their products are marketable in the UK market the Japanese market has the dual potential.
Before you sell your product to Japan, you're probably wondering what types of products will have fun in the Japanese market. In the marketing experience of Rules, the Japanese consumer usually prefer British products typically show some equity. It depends on what type of products sold, for example, if you are selling cups and saucers, then you have wealth, but if your product is more oriented to technology, then quality is the first number. It is not necessary to order a campaign mass marketing to send out thousands of free samples to people who are not interested in your product, you can go to a specific group of consumers.
Once you have conducted your market research should have a better idea of whether your product will go down well in the Japanese market or not. The next step is to in fact their product in Japan. Not much difference between taking their products to market in the United Kingdom and bring them to market in Japan. You can find an importer or distributor, you can sell directly from the UK to Japan, or take the more expensive route of establishing a subsidiary in Japan.
Working with an intermediary can reduce the time and cost significantly when doing business with Japan.
