Southern Potteries

Oriental Ceramics
The first pottery making in China Eastern was contemporary with the civilization of Rome. It is one of the oldest of the arts Far East and shows a steady development until the nineteenth century of our era.
China's cultural background and knowledge of customs, rituals and religions must be understood fully appreciate this art and what it means.
The symbolism of Chinese decor is inexhaustible. There is a story wrapped in each piece of ornament, comprehensible only to the student of this art. A package of books, for example, is emblematic of the scholarship.
Cintas in the bow-tied knots in the books, frames Wood (http://www.ferche.com/), and baskets of flowers, give these religious emblems. The dragon, a monster of great importance, is an emblem of divine power. The Chinese are, by nature, a lover of flowers and other natural beauty.
The potter's art styles in China are appointed by the names of dynasties, of which the last two, the Ming and Ching dynasties, are the most important for today's decorator because styles are almost the only examples that follow be available to the general public. Previous productions found only in museums or private collections invaluable. The major dynasties in which the ceramic and porcelain were produced are:
960-1127: Northern Sung: literature and printing.
1127-1280: Southern Sung: The Golden Age of painting landscape and ceramics. First porcelain made to imitate the form of bronze.
1280-1368: Yuan-Mongol: the tradition continues.
1368-1643: Ming: Art following past models, especially the T'ang dynasty.
1644-1851: Ch'ing: Manchu emperors – Great age of porcelain, jade and stone carved.
The last two Chinese dynasties were of influence in Western art, largely in the eighteenth century. These two are known as the dynasties Ming (1368-1643) and Qing (1644-1851).
During the Ming Dynasty all the arts was greatly encouraged. In the manufacture of porcelain from a wide variety of colors used colored glazes, which until now provided the main decoration of recorded frames (http://www.ferche.com), became less popular as decorations monochromatic pattern developed.
This was the period of the blue and white porcelain, where the flower patterns in various shades of blue were placed in a field cream and the whole covered with a bluish glaze very weak.
Occasionally the colors are inverted and white flowers were placed on a blue background. To At the end of the Ming period, we find more variety in the art color decor and patterns, and the beginning of polychrome decoration.
In the Ch'ing dynasty the emperor Kang Hsi (1662-1722) and his grandson Ch'ien Lung (1736-1795), had a strong interest in making porcelain, and an intense trade is conducted with European countries. The potters of this period reached its height in technical skills.
A variety of porcelain were made, including the model discussed and blue and white, the most typical of which was the family hawthorn jar, showing the hawthorn blossom into a fund that mimics a model of ice cracking.
The design symbolizes the passing of winter and the arrival of spring. These bottles were presented as gifts, along with the day of the Year New Chinese, which came a little later in spring than ours. Were filled with candy, ginger tea and preserves.
colored polychrome decoration polish delicate shades painted in the original image frames glazed porcelain resulted in the most glorious creations. The enamel paint applied to the surface Part of the original glazed and more permanent means of re-burning at a temperature below the original firing, the colors of enamel could not bear the high degree of heat required to trigger the body of the piece itself.
Potters in this period created the porcelain known in French terms of "Famille Noire", "Famille Verte" and the "Famille hose", which are used to refer to porcelain with enamel decoration color applied, the predominant background color to be, respectively, black, green, and rose.
This variety of decorative designs and stunning colors have not been called, and the decorations include a variety of drawings of flowers in their natural colors as the background colors described above.
Other patterns were made with scenes of domestic life, the cut scenes, historical and mythological subjects, the family dragon and the phoenix of the most beautiful feathers, landscapes, sacred mountains, butterflies, insects, emblems Buddhists and many others too numerous to mention.
