Lebron James, Lindsay Lohan and Mary Harada
If you watch the news, it can be so sick of hearing about Lebron James and Lindsay Lohan like me. Mary Harada On the contrary, is another story – an approximate value of hearing. His story is inspiring, but uplifting. Mary is one of four athletes who have septuagenarian perfromance become the summer sports that are truly worthy of headlines. These are their stories.
First, is 70 years old, Dr. John Williams, of New Brunswick, Canada. Dr. Williams, a mixed martial arts fighter, was put into a cage to fight against former professional wrestler, Larry Brubaker, 49, as part of the "Wild Card" event of an MMA Elite Productions July 24 at Nouveau Casino-New Brunswick in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. This was not a publicity stunt that was a real fight cage that Dr. Williams won the second round with the ankle lock submission. This makes Dr. John Williams, the world's oldest MMA cage fighting.
Dr. Williams began his martial arts and professional boxing in 1947 as a seven year old. Over the years that followed study and master several martial art forms such as Kodokan Judo, Tani-Ha Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo, Hapkido and Karate Kyokushinkai. As a young man who made strong statements in which curved spikes, ripped phone books and did other impressive feats of strength. In his sixties was set to break Guinness world record 11-inch thick stack of ice sheets (a record that still stands). And even more impressive, in an interview for the game this summer, said, "I'm as strong as it was 40 years ago. "Now, that's saying something.
Dr. Williams fight was a test of their skills in martial arts. It was an opportunity for him to show the world that "age is just a number." He could show us that the fall in addition to that age is only an option because no train has stopped in recent years as it did in its early years.
Now let's shift our focus to the average distance running to see what some women in their seventies have made this summer to push back the limits of the age limitation. In the Hayward Classic track and field meet in Eugene, Oregon earlier this summer, professor emeritus and his grandmother, Mary Harada, 75, set a world record and U.S. in the career of a mile. His 7:55.74 destroyed the previous record of 8:16.3 set by Suzi MacLeod last year. Speaking of Suzi MacLeod, in the same meeting, Suzi passed the 21 year old American Record in 800 meters (3:37.19 Pearl Mehl in 1989) with a time of 3:35.22 – a pace of 7:10 per mile – not too bad for a 75-year old!
A little about Mary Harada is in order. She has had a good summer to run as well as the mile run World Register which established a new American record in the 5,000 meters, too. In the U.S. Masters Championships outdoors in Sacramento, California, in July, which recorded a 26:55.11 in this case, crushing the previous record had been for 19 years (27:10.76 Algen by Williams in 1991) for more than 15 seconds and an average of 8:39 per mile for 3.1 mile race. Oh, and she does all this despite having asthma, which must take medication during a recent one-mile race panting and panting his way through the last three laps of a new world record is already broken.
Mary is able to break these records, because she care of your body and train intelligently, ie is not exaggerating, you have found leads to injuries. In this sense, it only runs four times a week with a long run of eight miles. Their careers include some speedwork on the track and maybe a little hill work. They are all the fun you have – the time of your life – breaking through barriers of age as the rest of us think we are real. They are faster and stronger than people decades younger, which – due to the decrees of "aging" – is not possible.
